A big thank you to the Mooroolbark Community Bank Branch for our recent grant. Here’s some photos of our club Vice President and Secretary (both Peter) receiving the grant. ...

Yesterday evening we held our 2017 Annual General Meeting at the Mooroolbark Bowls Club. The meeting was led by Chairman - Peter McGowan and attended by our Board, Shareholders, Staff & Community Grant recipients. As with previous years the highlight of the evening was handing out our Community Grants. We congratulate the following grant recipients:- * The Babes Project - $2,607-17 to set up a new work station complete with a computer and accessories. * Jim Fuller House - 2,714 for a new lap top computer, printer and the services of a short term employee to input data that is currently situated on a number of personal computers. *Lilydale West Primary School - $8,337-93 to satisfy two requirements. The first of which is to purchase a Heart Defibrillator unit along with it’s cabinet and accessories. This is for the safety of the students, staff, parents and visitors to the school. The second project is to install new play equipment in an area where the old play equipment has been removed. The school recognises the benefits of providing structured play equipment that will appeal to all student age groups and both genders. * Caladenia Dementia Care - $7,750 to ensure their current well worn carpet of over 14 years is replaced. In parts it has become a tripping hazard. This is something their Government funding does not cover and we are very pleased to support them achieve this project. * Mooroolbark and District Miniature Railway and Steam Club - $2,500 to purchase a new Heart Defibrillator unit and accessories. The popularity of this local attraction is growing substantially. This unit will be made available for the well being of their members and guests. *Spectrum Journeys Incorporated - $2,500 to help run a parent support group program specifically designed for mothers of children who have newly received an Autism diagnosis. Thank you to Kate Johnson who spoke about the activities of Spectrum Journeys and thanked the Board on behalf of all grant recipients. Also thank you to Mooroolbark Bowls Club who generously made their rooms available for our use and provided a light supper. We are proud to be able to assist these local groups who do such wonderful work in our local community.

A quick video from Halloween! See if you can spot yourselves! ...

When I was handing out prizes last night, I was looking for people that stood out because they had done a bit of DIY. I didn’t get photos of everyone I awarded a prize to, and other members also handed some out (we handed out around 30). But here’s a couple I did remember to photograph. Overall there were so many great costumes and we thank you for getting into the spirit and dressing up 👻 ...
